Join intrepid amateur researcher and local historian, Bill McGee, for an evening of figurative exploration of the early Gatineau Park area. For almost 25 years, Bill has collected maps of the Park and researched its early settlers from the 1800s—mainly Irish families who settled along Ridge Road (now Trail 1) and who farmed most of the high land between Kingsmere Road and Wolf Trail.

Some of the still-familiar family names include McCloskey, Ryan, Keogan, Fortune, McKinstry and Dunlop. Bill has given similar talks to Friends of Gatineau Park and the Historical Society of Ottawa.

Places are limited so please arrive on time.

This meeting is in collaboration with Friends of the Park.
