INVITATION

Dear Friends,

This year the Quebec Anglophone Heritage Network is celebrating an important milestone -- its 20th anniversary! Please join us as we mark the occasion at John Abbott College on Montreal’s West Island on June 6!

We've planned an itinerary we hope you’ll find exciting and fun, with activities taking place on June 6 and 7 in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue and nearby Vaudreuil.

Day 1 (Saturday afternoon and evening) includes QAHN's Annual General Meeting. This will take place at John Abbott College in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. The AGM will be followed by a 20th anniversary cocktail, and a banquet supper and awards ceremony, with talks by Rod Macleod (a lighter look back at QAHN’s first 20 years) and Ryan Young (the history of John Abbott College, which celebrates its own 50th birthday in 2020). Also featured will be displays by heritage groups, and a special exhibition called “QAHN: 20 Years and Counting.”

On Day 2 (Sunday) we’ll visit the splendid Musée régional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges in Vaudreuil. The village is holding its annual festival “Les Seigneuriales.” This event features reenactors in period costume and culminates in a parade to the museum. A lunch at nearby Duke & Devine’s Irish Pub will follow our museum visit. In the afternoon, we’ll head back to Sainte-Anne to visit the historic Fraser House, home to the Quebec Family History Society. We’ll hear a talk by Ryan Young (“From the Fur Trade to Fair Trade: A History of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue”), followed by a guided tour of the waterfront, and Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal, a National Historic Site of Canada.

pg.1.sm__0.jpgSo, it should be a great two days! But mark these dates on your calendars: June 6-7! For more information about our itinerary and fees, please consult the enclosed program, registration form and support documents. Participants may pick and choose what they wish to attend, or they can attend everything. All we ask is that you register and return your completed form with payment to QAHN as soon as possible.

As space is limited, you should register early! Please note that QAHN has booked a block of rooms for Saturday evening, at a very competitive rate, at the Courtyard by Marriott West Island. Again, we suggest you book early as space is limited!

We look forward to seeing you in June!
