Live-streaming tonight at 7:30 p.m.! Brysonville Revisited monthly live folk music night, Ormstown, Qc. Special online edition co-hosted by QAHN as part of our project "A Different Tune: Musical Heritage in English-speaking Quebec

What interesting times to be running a project about musical heritage and community! Amid these early days of the COVID-19 crisis, we've seen so much musical culture moving online, performers trying to reach old and new audiences through livestreams and to sustain their livelihood. For many of us, seeing our musical friends has been an important way to break down the feelings of isolation as we all remain indoors. One of the themes of this project is how musical heritage strengthens our communities by bringing people together and breaking patterns of social isolation in minority communities.

In this vein, the people who organize the monthly Brysonville Revisited event in Ormstown recently asked me to help them set up their monthly open-mic using Facebook Live. We've been working hard all week to learn the technology and do trial runs.

Please join us tonight (Friday) evening at 7:30 PM EST to hear a great line-up of performers, including several joining from out-of-province. I'll be working tech support, playing a few tunes, and doing a bit of emceeing with the regular hosts.

Simply head on over to the Brysonville Revisited page to check out the live stream.
